Recreational Basketball

Rec basketball is a great option for players of all skill levels. We strive to teach the fundamentals of the game while at the same time fostering what we hope is a life-long passion for the sport of basketball.

DAYBA offers recreational basketball for boys and girls in grades 5-8.   We are partnering with the Salvation Army Rookie Basketball Association which offers recreational leagues for grades K-4.

2017-18 Online Rec Registration is now CLOSED!

Rec League updates can be found on our Facebook page.

DAYBA Registration is now closed! We are in the process of forming teams, assigning coaches and forming practice schedules. A few things:

1) Registration fees are $80. If you did not pay online when you registered you need to send a check or money order (no cash please) to our DAYBA office with your child's name written in the memo portion of the check.
310 N 1st Ave W. #109
Duluth MN 55806

2) These next two weeks will be extremely busy for DAYBA. Please be patient as we work to get everything ready to start the year! We will be updating our website and Facebook page with new information so check there first. I will also send out DAYBA Update emails like this to communicate information.

3) Practices are tentatively scheduled to start the week of November 13th...which is next week.  Our hope is to have all teams formed in the next couple of days and for teams to practice at least once next week in some capacity. You will be contacted by your coach with practice information. A reminder that gym time is limited and to please be as flexible as possible...it's really hard to accommodate every one's schedule. Coaches availability will also dictate when teams will practice.

4) We will again partner with the Superior Basketball Association (SBA) and send our 5/6 grade girls teams and our 7/8 grade boys teams over to play in their house league. We have had a great partnership with the SBA and have participated in their Rec League the past five years. Their schedule is almost identical to ours. Games will be played Saturdays at Superior Middle School. We do this because we have had low participation numbers for these levels which does not allow us to form enough teams to have our own "in-house" rec league. This allows us to continue to offer rec basketball for these levels!

5) 5/6 grade boys will play Saturday mornings at Duluth Denfeld. Games start December 2nd.

Each of our coaches will be subjected to a background check.
